London -- It is not animal food or medicines that dominates the list of charity items donated to People‘s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) shops, but a set of rather novel items that include handguns and a pair of trousers.
A survey of 182 animals resulted in the compilation of the unique list of donations made by animal-lovers.
"PDSA relies on the generosity of the public for donations - the majority of which are sold to help the charity provide free veterinary treatment for sick and injured pets.
"You never can tell what treasures you might stumble across in a PDSA shop. Other novel items include replica handguns, a stethoscope, a sausage in a pair of trousers, a bag of straw complete with rabbit droppings,‘ the Sun quoted David Facer, PDSA Head of Retail, as saying.
Top on the list was kitchen sink given away by a police station, followed by gas mask, a samurai sword, some false teeth, glass eyes, a book about piles, and a blow-up doll.
A voodoo doll in a coffin (with pins) and a set of nipple tassels were considered ninth and tenth on the list of weird items.
Some peculiar donations were replica handguns, a stethoscope, a sausage in a pair of trousers, a bag of straw with rabbit droppings.
Other items like rubber underwear, handcuffs, whips, blow-up dolls, and rabbits ... of the non-furry variety also made it list strange donations.
And one shop in the West Midlands had a whole zoo of animal-themed men‘s thongs.

Washington, July 23 (ANI): Producer and reality TV judge Simon Cowell is the second highest paid TV star, according to a U.S. poll.
The 47-year-old with his 44 million dollar annual earning stood second in the TV Guide magazine‘s rich list.
Oprah Winfrey with her whopping 260 million dollars a year topped the list.
Meanwhile, Cowell reportedly drew a hefty profit of 9,103,833 pounds this year, thanks to his company Simco Ltd.
Cowell‘s major earning come from his reality show American Idol‘s success and his five-year TV deal with Fox.
Cowell gets his salary from Sony BMG and his pay packet in 2005 was 2 million pounds, 50 per cent of Simco‘s profits before tax.
His salary for 2006 would have been 4.5 million pounds under the same company rules but the reality‘s shows‘ high ratings earned him the profits.
The company has however predicted that the recent phone line scandal of telly voting might cut down the show‘s profits. (ANI)
