Melbourne -- Indian IT giant Satyam has decided to ramp up its operations in Australia after reporting a sharp jump in revenue there.
Satyam Australia and New Zealand country manager Deepak Nangia said the company was in the planning phase of opening a new centre in Melbourne.
Scheduled to open in three months, the centre would supplement capacity at Satyam‘s recently opened 150-seat operation in Sydney.
Nangia, while refusing to reveal the Melbourne operation‘s capacity, nevertheless, said the company was visiting Australian university campuses to increase its graduate intake and had set a target of 100 students to be sent to its Hyderabad facilities in India for training.
Nangia said Satyam‘s South Pacific region revenue had grown 87 per cent to 41 million dollars during its first financial quarter to June 30 compared with the same period last year, and 37 per cent sequentially.
Satyam ANZ, a subsidiary of the Hyderabad based IT giant currently has around 1200 "associates", 700 of whom are located in Australia, reports The Australian. (ANI)
