George P Johnson (GPJ) India Manages Music Launch of 'Luv U Soniyo

George P Johnson (GPJ) was roped in to conceptualize and execute Viacom 18's music
launch of Joe Rajan's 'Luv U Soniyo' at Infiniti 2 (Malad) in Mumbai on July 06.
'Rhythm of Love' which was the theme, and a platform for the youth bands to express
love through their music - all original compositions, which got huge participation and
excitement. As a part of "Rhythm of Love" execution, George P Johnson went to top 20
colleges in Mumbai and conducted pre-buzz activity announcing the auditions. The same was
also promoted through 'Luv U Soniyo' Facebook page. The gratification for the winning band
was to perform at the music concert for the music launch of the movie.
Reaching out to 20 colleges, conducting a pre-buzz and holding the auditions was a big
challenge since all of this had to be managed within a period of 7 days. The team got
great participation from college bands and some real good talent was seen.
A day prior to the music launch auditions were held which was judged by Remo
Fernandes, Joe Rajan - Director of the film. The winning band was 'What's in the name' who
got a lifetime opportunity to perform during the music launch.
The launch event was split between two time slots wherein during the day there were
MC-led games to engage the mall audience, create hype around the music launch - concert
which was to take place in the evening. Couple games were played and customized movie
merchandise were given as gifts to participants and game winners.
The launch began in the evening and was compered by RJ Archana from Radio City. The
launch began with RJ Archana introducing the star cast and team of Luv U Soniyo including
the lead pair Tanuj Virwani and Neha Hinge, debutant director & co-producer Joe Rajan,
Music Director Vipin Patwa, singer Shaan, Rati Agnihotri and Remo Fernandes.
The theme of the event had a lot of romance love in the air feel, which was depicted
through the set design. The cast and crew launched the music by opening the heart-shaped
album cover. This was followed by a performance from the music director Vipin Patwa. Remo
Fernandes, who sang the title track of the movie, put on an entertaining show for the
media and crowd along with his band The Microwave Papadums. The event culminated with an
energetic performance from the winning band - What's in the name.
Giving his views on the event, K.G. Ramnarayan, Associate Director - Marketing,
