Donna Gallucio sworn in to the State Superior Court bench in Passaic County

Former assistant U.S attorney,Prospect Park resident, Donna Gallucio, was sworn in to the state Superior Court bench in Passaic County.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by almost100 people, including lawyers, judges, family and friends. New Jersey Chief Justice, Stuart Rabner, current U.S attorney for N.J, Paul.J. Fishman, and Governor Christie, Gallucio’s former boss, were also present for the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Christie said , “First and foremost what you need to know is that Gallucio is an excellent lawyer. Nothing has been handed to her”, he added. “She has had to prove herself every step of the way. She will continue , on the bench, to feel she has to prove herself every day.”
Her career
In her successful career as a Passaic County senior assistant prosecutor, Gallucio prosecuted more than 50 trials, most dealing with violent crimes, successfully. This was the beginning of her career.
This graduate of the Seton Hall Law School was then recruited by former U.S Attorney, and current Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, for serving in the U.S. Attorney’s New Jersey office.
Talking about Gallucio, Chief Justice Rabner said, “She’s smart, she’s wise, she’s a problem solver. She’s not just a hard worker, but a dynamo.”
The oath of office was administered by retired Passaic County based Superior Court Judge and former Passaic County prosecutor, Burrel Ives Humpherys
