Camelfest to rock Maxwell's

Dromedary Records, a New Jersey based record label will be holding the Camelfest Music Festival on Aug. 12 and 13, at the legendary Maxwell's.

Musicians come together for a noble cause
This two-day event, hosted by Dromedary chief, Al Crisafulli will bring together members of the NJ and regional music scene for a noble cause.

The proceeds of the event will be donated to Roots & Wings, a non-profit organization based in Mountain lakes.

Roots & Wings
Founded in 1999,this organization is dedicated to helping youngsters who are too old for child welfare.

It provides safe housing, educational support and practical life skills to youth who phase out of foster care and find themselves helpless and homeless, in order to make them independent.

“Because Roots & Wings is funded almost entirely by private donations and special events, support from individuals and organizations that work hard tp put on events like this one are critical to our sustainability," said director of the organization, Kim Spangenberg.

She acknowledged the fact that without the generosity of groups like Dromedary Records and its bands it would be very difficult for the organization to survive.

A big party for music lovers
An enviable line-up of performers will be gracing the legendary Maxwell’s for the event.

12 different bands will be bringing Maxwell to life on Friday and Saturday.

Friday night will have performances by Hoboken songwriting legend, Richard Barone, pop-rockers Robbers on Highstreet, Dromedary artists, Readymade Breakup and Mommyheads.

Saturday afternoon will see Yung Wu, Speed the Plough and Wild Carnation woo the audience.

Saturday evening’s big attraction is going to be the local favorite Stuyvesant, whose new album came out through Dromedary last month.

Dromedary thrilled
Dromedary records owner, Crisafulli expressed his pleasure of being able to put up this worthy event.

“We’re thrilled to have assembled such a great line-up of bands for this worthy cause. New Jersey has a rich history of indie rock music, and young people have always been a huge part of keeping it going.

"It’s great to be working with bands that are so willing to donate their time and talent to give something back, and to be bringing them together at one of the state’s best music venues,” he stated.

Dromedary has also pledged to donate the proceedings of its next six releases to Roots & Wings.
