Cell Phone radiations may cause cancer

Prolonged cell phone use may increase risk of cancer, says a statement issued by the WHO.

Your best friend – the cell phone quite possibly, can be a risk to your health, as per a World Health Organization(WHO) report. Scientist from 14 different countries, including the United States, have come up with this conclusion from their studies on cell phones that it could possibly increase the risk of cancer.

The scientists have enough evidence to put cell phones exposure in the category of “possibly carcinogenic to humans” putting cell phones in the same category as lead and auto exhaust.

Although they have said that they don’t have enough evidence to prove that cell phone radiation leads to cancer but have enough of it to alert consumer of a possible connection. The type of cancer whose risk increase due to cell phone frequency are glioma, a brain cancer and acoustic neuroma, a tumor of the nerve that runs through the ear to the brain.

Vice Chairman of Neurosurgery and Director of the brain tumor institute at the North Shore Long Island Jewish School of Medicine in Hempstead, N.Y., Dr. Michael Schulder, said that WHO has put cell phones in the category of may be, which is fairly weak as a concern goes.

Schulder said that its quite understandable that since cell phone emits microwave radiation and these radiation can alter DNA structure, then cell phones are harmful to us if they are used for a prolonged period of time.

Scientist have recommended that one should not use cell phones for a long period of time, try to use speaker or head phone as often as possible, text as much as possible, make use of the dot phone whenever possible, keep the cell phone slightly away from the ear while listening to the call.

Whether the connection between cell phone and cancer exists or not but one thing we all can do is prohibit using cell phones while we are driving. That is sure going to save our and many others life.
