Amy Winehouse heads back to rehab

Popular British singer Amy Winehouse, who won five Grammys for her album “Back to Back,” checked back into a rehabilitation clinic on Wednesday, confirmed the singer's spokesman.

Winehouse has several performances scheduled in Europe and other countries starting from June 18.

Winehouse back in rehab
The 27-year-old singer, whose most popular hits include “Rehab,” has checked into a rehab after facing several issues related with substance abuse and her health.

She was motivated to go to rehab by her father Mitch Winehouse, who felt that her daughter was drinking too much again.

People.com quoted a source as saying, “He sat her down and said, “I think you’re drinking too much again.”

Chris Goodman, spokesman for the singer, told Associated Press that the singer has checked into the rehab following “doctors’ advice.”

Goodman said, “She wants to be ready for performances in Europe this summer and decided to seek an assessment. She will remain at the Priority on doctor’s advice.”

Winehouse had a vodka on her way to rehab
Several reports suggest that the singer stopped on her way to rehab and had a mini bottle of vodka and gulped it down at the counter.

“She seemed out of it. She was stumbling about, slurring her words,” The Sun reported an observer as saying. “I was shocked to see her buy vodka so early in the day, and even more shocked to see her knock it down straight back,” the observer told The Sun.

Winehouse has many performances scheduled in Serbia, Greece, Turkey, Spain, and many other European countries.

She is also yet to release the sequel to her hit 2006 album “Back to Back,” and “It’s My Party,” her first recording since then, featured on the Quincy Jones’ compilation, Q: Soul Bossa Nostra, which was released last fall.
