Pit bull torturer faces felony charge

Kisha Curtis, the Newark woman who has starved Patrick, her 1-year-old pit bull dog and then cruelly tossing his body down a trash compacter in her apartment building is facing a felony charge. According to reports, Curtis allegedly left the poor dog tied to a railing while she left New Jersey for more than a week making the dog starve to death.

This report has prompted Frank Rizzo, superintendent of the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, to ask that Curtis be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Curtis has been charged with four counts of animal cruelty. The fourth-degree criminal charge was upgraded from previously filed animal cruelty charges. If convicted of the felony charge, she could face up to 18 months in jail and a $3,000 fine.

Meanwhile, Patrick was brought to the Garden State Veterinary Specialists in Tinton Falls after he was found at the bottom of the trash compactor on March 16th. The doctors said that he is improving little by little and has gained a little on his weight.

This is not a just cruelty to animals, this is torture! And it really makes my heart ache so much. This act is disgusting, mean, and horrible. There should be zero tolerance for this woman, she must be starved to death too like what she did to Patrick. All this devil would have to do is to turn the dog over to a humane society if she no longer wanted him. Very easy and very simple right? How hard it is to do that? Instead, she has starved the dog to death, tortured him, and disposed of him while he was still alive. Such a heartless and devilious act a man can ever do to an animal.

Good thing Patrick slowly recovers miraculously from this torture against him. And he has gained the sympathy and support, not only of the people of New Jersey, but of the entire world who have heard, read, and followed his painful and touching story.
