| RCMP and HTCIA present public seminar entitled Protecting Your Children On-Line |

The Atlantic Canada Chapter of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association (HTCIA), in conjunction with the Atlantic Region Technological Crime Section of the RCMP....
The seminar will take place from 6:30 PM - 8:30PM at the Holiday Inn Halifax Harbourview, 99 Wyse Road, Dartmouth, NS. This event will be free to any member of the public. Seating will be limited.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Cpl. Jim GILLIS, RCMP. Case Manager in charge of Project Horizon, an Atlantic Regional initiative dealing with child internet pornography.
- Drew Ann Wake, LiveWWWires. Co-creator of Missing, a challenging computer game that alerts preteens to the dangers of Internet predators.
- Celyn Robertson, Aliant. IT Security specialist with training in protecting children on-line.
The two hour session will present several cases of child exploitation, child pornography and how parents can help to protect their children when on-line. There will be a Q + A session following the presentations.
The HTCIA was created to encourage, promote, aid and facilitate the voluntary interchange of data, information, experience, ideas and knowledge about methods, processes, and techniques relating to investigations and security in advanced technologies among its membership.
