 Murray McDonald Inventor/Director of FloorBotics was on the new inventor program episode 6 presenting the FloorBot robotic vacuum. Over the recent years Murray has been busy walking the tightrope of commercialisation with his product from design, development to selling the technology.

Murray McDonald said, “The journey to has been a fascinating experience doing everything on a shoestring and that’s part of the Australian technology landscape” In the last 3 years Murray has traveled to many countries and spent over a year traveling to get this new Aussie technology into the global market.

Murray McDonald – Director FloorBotics said, “ The customer response to the FloorBot (robotic vacuum) has been overwhelming there is high interest and acceptance from consumers, from the elderly to disabled to commercial application”. “The hardest thing is to convince manufactures to change”

According to Murray McDonald “The cleaning industry is a very slow old traditional industry,” “The mop and bucket is over 2500 years old and it still going strong.” “The vacuum is over 100 years old an has not changed much apart from the color and the shape.” “ Isn’t it time that we let machines do some of these cleaning chores.”

FloorBotics has been developing its robotics technology for the last 8 years. The robotic technology has many applications from farming, security, mining exploration, telecommunication, search and rescue.
