On January 26th, 2005, The Wall Street Transcript will be presenting a conference on Building Security - Turning the Security Threat into a Competitive Weapon. This New York City event is set to include Senior Security Directors from companies such as GE, Morgan Stanley, The American Stock Exchange, PepsiCo and Avon Products. Also, Representatives from some of the largest landlords and property managers from firms such as Duke Realty, Pennsylvania REIT, Chushman & Wakefield and Shorenstein Realty Services will discuss their building security concerns.
Highlighted during the conference will be a focus on the increasing list of threats faced by Building Managers, Owners, and their Tenants. In addition to traditional risks, today’s security managers must be prepared to react to terrorism, natural disasters, electricity interruptions and workplace violence. These professionals must meet security challenges by selecting the right combination of technologies and processes, said David Wanetick, Managing Director of The Wall Street Transcript.
Due to 70% of building tenants reporting that overall building security features would affect leasing and renewals, this topic has become increasingly important. Further, failing to implement appropriate security measures runs the risk of losing business. Tools currently at the disposal of such professionals range from perimeter barriers to surveillance cameras; from employee background checks to biosensors; and from vendor security precaution to biometrics. These tools must be implemented not only to ensure the safety of the buildings and occupants but to avoid future liability and litigation, said Wanetick.
The Wall Street Transcript’s Executive Conference Series (TWST) focuses on the vital issues facing specific industries and the financial and commercial impact of these issues. Seating is limited. Please contact Naomi Barazani at 212-952-7400 x. 126 or Naomi@twst.com for registration details. For speaking and sponsorship opportunities, please contact James Meyer at 212-952-7400 x. 117 or jhmeyer@twst.com.
