Worlds leading computer systems company-Dell, announced the availability of a new addition to the XPS gaming line, early this morning. Solidifying its position in the lucrative gaming market, Dell launched its XPS M1710- the company’s fastest consumer notebook, which goes on sales next week. As the gaming market is growing rapidly the news comes with great enthusiasm for the Dell.
The company assures mobile gamers superb performance from the firepower of dual-core processor machine with 512 MB graphics, designed to let gamers simultaneously play three-dimensional (3-D) games while encoding music or scanning for viruses without zapping performance.
The XPS M1710 laptop, which is equipped with Intel(r) Core(tm) Duo processors, NVIDIA(r) 512 MB GeForce(r) Go 7900 GTX graphics, up to 4 GB of memory and dedicated technical support, boasts impressive upgrades over previous models.
The XPS M1710 laptop-the major upgrade of Dell’s XPS laptop lineup, will be available in two versions- "Special Edition Red" and "Metallic Black". The Metallic Black model is shipping now with a base price of ,600. The elevated Special Edition Formula Red will only be available in the USA and Canada, and starts at ,400 with a variety of CPU and GPU upgrades. The upgraded model also includes an illuminated XPS touchpad and adjustable 16-colour perimeter lighting, which allows users to customize the look of their notebook. Despite the notebook includes the Media Center software, still, a TV tuner is an optional add-on.
The new M1710 also integrates the multimedia features to entertain which comes with Dell’s Media Direct - arguably the best instant-on multimedia software on the market. It can be launched within seconds by simply pressing the laptop’s Media button instead of its Power button. No more waiting for Windows to boot is required. The software allows the user to interact with the system easily and lets them play everything from DVD movies to MP3 files. It also allows access to media files anywhere on user’s hard drive, optical drive, or the included 5-in-1 card reader (SD, MMC, MS, MS Pro and XD).

Dell’s M1710 weighs 8.75 pounds and also includes a TrueLife(tm) 17-inch widescreen UXGA display, whose brightness had enhanced by 30 percent for a clearer display of games, photos and movies, Dell claimed.

Microsoft said on Friday it has made a " breakthrough" in its long-running antitrust battle with the European Commission, saying it had finally perceived what the competition regulator wanted the software group to do to evade the menace of penalties of up to €2m ($2.4m) a day.
